Samudra Veera
Sumudra-veera
stands,
strong and straight,
as
it anchored to the deep riverbed.
Decorated
with marigold, rose and Lavender,
the
ship seemed a splendor!
Charming
and young, with seasoned wood construct,
It
had a deck of in form of a heart!
With
Linen fabric, wrapped on the Raft.
Ready
to take the maiden voyage,
Holding
Goods for the trade,
Over
the seas, at a far-off land,
Called
Subarnabhoomi – The land of Gold.
Eyes
soaked with tears,
Sadhabani
clung to her Sadhaba,
The
night, she wished to hold for ages!
For
the morning rays will part her from her love,
For
long, so long!
How
shall she live, without him?!
But
it’s the pain she must endure,
As
she is the Sadabani - the Sadhaba’s Wife
While
he sails in the Seas, So does She in her Mind!
Aa,
Ka, Ma, Bai….
Roared
the crew, as they dropped the anchor,
And
spread the raft,
To
begin the voyage, in the name of the Lord with Round Black Eyes,
In
the name of the king The King, The Gajapati,
In
the name of the Land – The Kalinga,
In
the name of the Ship – The Samudra Veera!
From
Corn to Gold,
From
Apparel to Applique,
From
Jems to Ivory,
To
trade one Culture to another!
Yet,
many thing to get lured,
New
land, Women, and wealth!
But
They
have Hopes and ambitions!
After
the long Voyage!
Fighting
strong winds & giddy waves,
To
return safe and sound,
To
Matrubhoomi, their motherland
